Michele is an accomplished entrepreneur and designer with a distinguished career in buying, merchandising, and product development for some of the world's most renowned brands. With over two decades of expertise, Michele’s professional journey began in New York City, where she made her mark in luxury fashion, working with top brands like Saks Fifth Avenue, Sugar Factory Brands, and Dylan’s Candy Bar. Her deep understanding of the retail landscape and strategic growth led to successful high-profile partnerships with major names such as Warner Bros. for the Wizard of Oz75th Anniversary, Sanrio for Hello Kitty’s 40th Birthday, and Paramount Pictures for Mean Girls on Broadway. Additionally, she spearheaded the creation of co-branded celebrity treats for icons like the Kardashians, Pitbull, Bruno Mars, and Snoop Dogg.
In 2019, Michele’s contributions to the confectionery industry were recognized when she was named one of the Top Five in the National Confectioners Association’s Future Leaders Program. This honor reflected her ability to drive innovation, expand market reach, and build lasting, profitable partnerships.
When the COVID-19 pandemic led to the disruption of her senior management role in New York City, Michele pivoted to entrepreneurship, returning to her roots in Dunmore, PA. There, she founded Electric City Sweets, a women-owned business specializing in kosher Belgian chocolates and Truffle Cups with unique and innovative flavor profiles. With her extensive background in retail and merchandising, Michele was able to create a product line that resonated with both corporate clients and consumers seeking high-quality, personalized gifts and event solutions. Electric City Sweets has since gained a reputation for its exquisite, customizable confectionery offerings.
Beyond her entrepreneurial success, Michele is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She has served on the board of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - ALSAC in both Miami and New York City, and has been an active member of Habitat for Humanity International. Her dedication to service also includes a long-standing involvement with the Junior League of Scranton, as well as chapters in Miami and New York City. In 2024, Michele expanded her philanthropic efforts by joining the board of the Girl Scouts of Pennsylvania, representing Lackawanna County.
As the founder of HYD NYC, Michele has been channeling her extensive experience in fashion, design, and retail into creating a luxury brand known for its sophisticated accessories and timeless appeal since 2018.
